Émilie Aussel

In 2009, filming a short film in Marseille was the catalyst. A few years later, three more short films followed, produced by Shellac. These films, about camaraderie and solitude, explore the relationship between intimacy and community, telling stories of friendship and love to portray a self-aware generation, not without humor, irony, and romanticism. A generation in search of the absolute and emotional connection, seeking something here on earth that transcends them. Alongside this, Émilie also leads numerous film workshops with teenagers and young adults. Each workshop is a way to connect with young people who could populate her stories, inviting them to write, act, film, and talk about themselves, their feelings, and their relationships with others and the world. She also leads workshops in art schools, drama schools, and with GREC. With the support of Shellac, she directed "Mourir jeune" (Dying Young), a feature film co-written by Emmanuelle Bayamack-Tam, an author published by POL, and Yacine Badday, a screenwriter. Another feature film project is currently underway: "L'extase de Dorothée" (Dorothée's Ecstasy).
